Show Us the Father

Show Us the Father

“Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” - John 14:8

Jesus replied to this by saying, “Whoever has seen me has seen the father.” We know that Jesus is the exact imprint of his nature, the radiance of the glory of God, and the heir of all things. Jesus also said that if you know Him, you know the Father. They are one. Jesus did this in several ways. He spoke only as the father wanted him to speak. He fully submitted to God in perfected obedience. He demonstrated God’s love in his actions and taught God’s will through his words.

We can do the same. We can speak as God would have us speak and fully submit ourselves to him and learn obedience. We can demonstrate God’s love in our actions towards others and teach God’s will with our mouths. In those ways God will be seen in us and others will know the Father by knowing us. How are we with showing the character and person of God in our lives? Could others say that they know God by knowing you?

Philip said, “it is enough for us.” The most powerful message the world will ever hear is our actions. If we live a life as Christ did, it will be sufficient to convict people’s consciences. Go, and show others the Father.
