“then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment” - 2 Peter 2:9
Trials have a profound ability to cloud our vision. They engulf us in a fog doubt and insecurity that makes it hard to see past our fears and dubieties. Our scope is narrowed by our trials to see only bleak futures and makes our hearts claustrophobic with worries of God’s lack of love or concern for us.
We as people tend to be remarkably short-sighted (not just our fellow bespectacled friends) in regards to the future. Being stationed way down here on earth, we lack the elevation to see into the future unlike God who sit enthroned in heaven. God is not short-sighted. He is not limited nor is His vision clouded. He knows how to rescue the godly from trials. We must have faith in Him.
But when things are at their darkest and our sight fails, remember one of the first things that we learned about God; He can make light our of darkness just by the power of His word.
