“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” - Isaiah 6:8
Passages like this help us to understand Isaiah better. Isaiah was a man who lived by faith. As we know, without faith it is impossible to please God. When God called for someone to go, Isaiah was person who had the faith to say, in essence, “Wherever you send, I will go.” He knew that if God sent him, then God would be with him.
Jesus tells us to earnestly pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. We should also be individuals who answer the call. Laborers are needed everywhere. We might be called to go to the grocery store and extend the invitation to study or worship. We might be called to go to a friend or a family member to urge them to return to the Lord. We might be called to go to distant parts of the world and preach a message that has not been heard there.
Whatever the case may be, God will set you with a task that is fitting to your abilities, and He will be with you. Have faith in God for that is the only way to please Him. Hear his call, and respond, “Here I am! Send me.” You just might be surprised how much you can accomplish for the Kingdom of God.
